How to add your shifts to your phone calendar (.ics)
The Add to calendar (.ics) button makes a standard calendar file for the year shown, with one event per shift and its start and end time. The file is made in your browser; nothing is uploaded. Times are "floating" local times, so they show at the same clock time in whatever time zone your phone uses.
iPhone
- Tap Add to calendar (.ics) in Safari.
- Open the downloaded file and tap Add All, then choose a calendar.
Android with Google Calendar
- Download the file on a computer, or save it to your phone.
- On a computer, open Google Calendar, go to Settings, then Import & export, choose the file and the calendar, and press Import. It syncs to your phone.
Outlook
- Open the file, or in Outlook go to File, Open & Export, then Import/Export, and choose the .ics file.
Good to know
- The file is a one-off copy. If your pattern or start date changes, delete the old events and import a new file. Tip: import into a separate calendar so you can remove it in one go.
- Importing the same file twice may duplicate events in some apps.
- Each event's notes include the pattern and crew.
